Work out what a machine mining Litecoin, Dogecoin, Monero or any other proof-of-work coin earns after electricity and India’s 30% tax, and where it stops paying.
Choose a coin, enter your machine, the electricity rate, the network hashrate and the coin price, then choose Calculate. Your figures appear here.

Assumes the network hashrate, block reward and price stay as entered; in practice networks grow and rewards are cut. The block rewards filled in are those of November 2026, so check them. Tax is charged on the full value of the coins mined, with no deduction for electricity or hardware. Live prices are provided by CoinGecko. For Bitcoin in satoshis, use the Bitcoin Mining Calculator.
Your share of all the hashing on a coin’s network wins you the same share of the coins it pays out to miners. The number of blocks a day comes from the block time. Electricity is the running cost, and tax is charged on the full value of what you mine.
Short answers on what mining a coin earns in India.
What a mining machine earns on any proof-of-work coin after electricity and tax. Take a Litecoin machine doing 9.5 GH/s on 3,425 W, electricity at ₹5 per kWh, a 2% pool fee, a network of 2,500 TH/s and Litecoin at ₹8,000. It mines about 0.0134 LTC a day, worth ₹107.25, but uses ₹411.00 of electricity, so after ₹33.46 of tax at 31.2% it loses ₹337.21 a day. Litecoin machines usually earn Dogecoin as well, which changes the answer: see the next question.
Litecoin and Dogecoin use the same Scrypt hashing, and most pools mine both at once, called merged mining, with no extra electricity. To include it, work out the Dogecoin side with the same machine: choose Dogecoin, keep the hashrate and enter Dogecoin’s network hashrate and price, then add the two revenues. In the example, Dogecoin at ₹15 adds about 53.6 DOGE, or ₹804.38, a day. With tax on both coins, the machine then makes about ₹216.21 a day, against a loss on Litecoin alone.
Your share is your hashrate divided by the whole network’s: 9.5 GH/s out of 2,500 TH/s is 1 in 2,63,158. The network finds a block every few seconds or minutes, depending on the coin: Litecoin every 2.5 minutes, or 576 blocks a day. Each block pays the block reward, and a pool pays out your share steadily, less its fee. Choosing a coin fills in its reward and block time; check them, because rewards fall at halvings and other scheduled cuts.
When you sell, section 115BBH taxes the gain at a flat 30%, plus 4% cess, and allows only the cost of acquisition to be deducted. The government has said mining costs such as infrastructure are not deductible, so this calculator treats the cost of mined coins as nil and taxes their full value, with no deduction for electricity or the machine. The exchange also deducts 1% TDS on the sale. Some advisers treat mined coins as income when they are received as well, so check with a tax professional. The Bitcoin Tax Calculator works out the tax on a sale of any coin.
The rate per kWh at which mining stops paying. Because tax is charged on the full value of the coins, not on the profit, it is much lower after tax. In the Litecoin example the machine breaks even at only ₹0.90 per kWh after tax, or ₹1.30 before tax, which is why Litecoin miners rely on the Dogecoin they earn alongside it.
Any, as long as each figure has the right unit beside it: 1 TH/s is 1,000 GH/s, and 1 GH/s is 1,000 MH/s. Bitcoin machines are usually rated in TH/s and the network in EH/s, Litecoin and Dogecoin machines in GH/s, Ethereum Classic machines in MH/s and Monero computers in kH/s. Choosing a coin sets the usual units. The network hashrate changes every day; a block explorer or your pool shows the current figure.
Yes. Choose Another Coin and enter its block reward, its block time in seconds and its price; the coin’s website or a block explorer shows the first two. It only works for proof-of-work coins, which are mined with hardware. Proof-of-stake coins such as Ether are earned by staking, not mining.
